Param Poojya Sadguru Shri Bapat Guruji - Brief Introduction

This is a brief introduction of Parampoojya Sadguru Shri Vasudev Vaman Bapat Guruji who strongly believes that science and spirituality can be studied together.

Yadnya, the ancient Indian ritual of fire offerings, is a great boon given to the humankind. Sadguru Shri Bapat Guruji believes the Yadnya must be propagated for the physical and spiritual upliftment of the community. With this in mind he resolved in the year 1994 to perform collective yadnyas every second Sunday of the month, in order to enable large number of participants to avail of its benefits. Shri Guruji has been trained in the 'Agnihotra' traditions and Vedic ideology by his late father who was revered as “Vedamurti Vedacharya” because of his studies in Yajurveda and Atharvaveda and had been given the respectful title of “Dikshit”. Shri Sadguru has done Gurucharitra Parayana, for 16 years and has also regularly recited the Ramaraksha stotra for seven continuous years. From 1981 to 1993, Shri Sadguru studied the path of knowledge with scientific base under the guidance of Swami Shri Vidnyanananda. Thereafter when Guruji realised that combining the knowledge of modern science with the Indian theories of spirituality creates tremendous spiritual strength, he made a resolution in the year 1994 to conduct 108 yadnyas and since then the Gayatri Yadnyas were conducted every month. Gayatri mantra is the most powerful 24 syllabled mantra, which when chanted collectively with noble intentions has a scientifically proven positive effect on the mind-body-soul of every participant. In the year 2000, Rudra Swahakar and many more yadnyas were subsequently added to the resolution of conducting a monthly collective Yadnya. The scientific and spiritual importance of Yadnya, a sadhana that brings the society collectively together, is explained by Shri Guruji to all. 'Light' is a form of energy and Shri Guruji is constantly striving to help people derive the benefits of light energy by teaching them to perform 'jyotirdhyan' through the medium of the yadnya.
